Branding
Kaiku Talent Hunters
Kaiku were looking for a new striking image for their three instant coffees to sell in supermarkets. Each coffee had to communicate its natural ingredients, quality and origin.
The most characteristic item of these cups is the color, which had to prevail through the design:
Espresso (pink), a coffee that cromes from the Indian Arabica Coffee plant and has the most intense flavour.
Capuccino (dark brown), originary from the arabic coffee from Nicaragua and Honduras, with a splash of chocolate.
Macchiato (light brown), another arabic coffee from Guatemala and Honduras, and stands out for its creamy touch.
These were my proposals, completely different from each other.
In the Espresso I wanted to remark India’s bright colours from the Holi festival. And I added a tiny elephant family at the bottom.
In the Capuccino I played with different shades of brown and some Mayan symbols, typical from the area where the coffee plants are.
And in the Macchiato, I wanted to give importance to the Coffea Arabica with an illustration of the plant over a light brown gradient, as if it were the coffee itself.
